Kylin Carter was born on October 8, 2004 in Houston, Texas.  He is the son of Malveria and Robert Carter and the brother of Thesia, Renard and Kyla Carter. 

 

Kylin has been playing baseball since the age of 4.  He began playing tee ball at Oak Griener and has played for multiple teams in the Ocala, Orlando and Tampa areas over his 11 year baseball career.  He plays multiple positions to include catcher, third baseman, first baseman and even pitcher.  Kylin is a switch hitter and has enjoyed training and coaching under such great mentors as Rickie Weeks, Sr., Coach Jeff Watson, Midre Cummings, Benny Robinson, Jr. and currently Brian King as a team member of the Orlando Baseball Academy.  Kylin loved playing baseball as a child and noticed that his father (who had been ravaged by three strokes) was motivated for recovery by watching him practice and play.  This further fueled Kylin’s desire to master his skills in the sport.  Over his years of play, he has earned a collection of homerun, grand slam and game balls and been named team captain and MVP.  He is a natural athlete who has also excelled in soccer, playing Varsity soccer as a freshman.

 

Academy Report: Weighted GPA:  4.5

Kylin is driven by good old fashioned values and virtues such as honesty, competition and hard work.  He puts these attributes to work in the classroom by being an exceptional student.  He currently holds a 5.0 weighted grade point average as a Sophomore, International Baccalaureate student at Vanguard High School.  Kylin has consistently maintained above average grades throughout his academic career and has been a member of the Elementary and Junior Honor societies excelling in courses such as Spanish, Pre IB Biology, Geometry, Pre IB English and World History. He is admired by his peers as evidenced by being voted 8th grade prom king in middle school.

Kylin is also active in his church serving on the junior usher board and in the teen choir.  He loves music and was first chair during his middle school career as a tuba player in the beginning and symphonic band.  He often plays the piano at home to unwind after a game.

 

Kylin aspires to become a college and professional baseball player and to later enjoy work as a Sports Manager or an Attorney.
